More blogs from Mark Kenny …
15 Sep 2009
So I’m thinking of starting some new blogs. I keep posting stuff about personal development that I’d like to move to another blog. I’d also like to start a blog about teaching yourself a language. I have a real ambition to learn German, who knows why, and I think it would make a good blog! There’s also another blogging project that I had a while ago that I think would be good to resurrect, but I might seek guidance on that one.
Anyway, my question to you, my readers, is what should I do about the address? I have already bought some domain names for them, but can’t afford the hosting just yet. In the interim, which is better:
- joy.beingmrkenny.co.uk
- beingmrkenny.co.uk/joy
It’ll only be for about a year, but which do people find easier as a web address?

That is Tricky but I think joy.being mr kenny is a little better. As for the German Never try to learn how to write it Because this is a Problem for Germans themselves. Good luck with it Anyway
Agree with Chris on the URL, but absolutely not on the German comment.
Mark, you would love German because it is so regular. Everything follows a rule and can be expressed in tabular form! Even what is called “irregular” at GCSE level turns out to be regular (I’m thinking strong verbs here, people) and can also be expressed in (a set of) tables. As for spelling, it is so brilliant, because you can almost always predict how to spell a word from hearing it, and how to pronounce it from the spelling. I am clueless as to how someone could think German spelling is a problem, actually!
It was Actually on the Radio when I was Living there. It was much to Do with changing the Grammar and Spelling .
I know that German grammar is complicated, but then I find grammar really interesting. I kind of want to learn Icelandic, it’s been a little personal mission of mine for a while, and that’s even more complicated than German!
Right, gonna work out how to start learning German, lol.
