I’m asking the internet: when was the last time you used a tape?

When was the last time you used an audio cassette tape? Have a little think and pop the answer in the comments.
By the way, I’m watching Zombie Flesh Eaters 2. My second question, should you choose to answer it, is how do directors make crappy so-bad-they’re-good films like this and know how terrible they are and yet still make them? It’s unlikely that they’re made bad on purpose, so they must really think that they’re good. How is this possible?
Maybe a psychologist or philosopher could answer me that one, it’s a mystery too deep for laity.

It was about a year ago; I was attempting to record something on the wireless (the radio, I mean, not the WLAN), but I failed.
This post reminds me of someone I overheard recently. The conversation was in German but it translates well to English too:
“I’ll burn you a tape of it. Hang on, that’s not the right verb. What do you do to tapes? …no, not burn… I can’t remember! Oh, yes, that’s it. Record. I’ll record a tape of it for you.”
It makes me feel old, even though right then I couldn’t remember the right verb either. To think of all the tapes I got through as a kid.

I would probably have come up with “make”.
I feel old all the time these days. The wonderful people I live with don’t remember the 1987 hurricane.

Well I remember being at school when a bunch of trees got blown down. But maybe that was different tail-end of a hurricane, cos that would have made me 3 years old, which doesn’t fit. But I don’t remember any other hurricane events…

There were, there was a nother one, it was in about 1990. Wikipedia calls it the Burns Day storm of January 1990. Meanwhile it has a very funny quote from good old Michael Buerk about the 1987 one.
(I typed that first sentence wrongly, but in homage to your good self, I’ll leave it that way for posterity.)

Am guessing it was about 1997. I made an executive music format decision and gave all my tapes away. Funny you should mention this as only yesterday I was thinking how there was one particular danceytrancey tape that I still miss. Shame.

Hurricanes: Yes, it was in 1990, I looked it up on BBC news.
Tapes: Why are hi-fis still made with tapes? I put my favourite tapes on minidisc (nice idea but quickly went obsolete).

January, my mate made a tape of one of her Ivor Cutler records for me while I was staying at her house. I also fell off a pull up bar while I was there and knackered my back but that’s another story.
