Computer folk are officially insane

This from the PHP manual:

The function names __sleep and __wakeup are magical in PHP classes. You cannot have functions with these names in any of your classes unless you want the magic functionality associated with them. See below for more information.

Magical! Programming is full of this sort of thing. Another example is something called a ‘sanity check’: apparently these are quite standard fare.

You can also say that something is fscked and it’s not in the slightest bit rude.

  • Yeah, there are a couple of plugins you can get to do that, I’ve not looked at all of them properly though. The Google Toolbar has a spell checker that checks spelling in forms on webpages.

Also, my version of Linux has a native spell checker that’s included in the default browser, Konqueror. I have completely fallen in love with it!

  • Well they do say love is blind.

Just out of curiosity (and with the intention of stealing it), what do you use for your photos?

Judging by the url, its (a version of ) simple PHP Gallery?

  • Yup, it’s actually a hacked up version of enhanced Simple PHP Gallery, which is itself a hacked up version of Simple PHP Gallery.

I’m currently writing a WordPress plugin that will do everything that eSPG does, only better :D It’s taking me bloody ages, but I’ve learnt tons and tons about PHP!
