A zero tolerance approach to shaving

I am sick of having to shave, I really am. It is unfortunate that my facial hair is so utterly pathetic — growing, as it does, almost exclusively on my chin and in two patches on my upper lip. Otherwise, I might consider growing a beard and giving up shaving for good.

It is such a pain to have to mess around with bits of shaving foam and razor blades, and having to look in a mirror which remains cloudy to the point of uselessness. One thing I will not put up with is cutting myself when shaving. I am really truly sick of that. My attitude of late has been, “if my skin is stupid enough to grow something that sticks out, it’s got no-one to blame but itself if it gets shaved off”.

My skin retaliates by bleeding copiously, for hours it seems, all over any item of white clothing in the vicinity.

Er, electric razor? These days they’re quite good and generally don’t cut skin.

But what about that goatee plan? Tell you what, I started re-growing mine today, why not join me?

  • haha, shaving, what a chore. To be fair electric razors do sort the problem of cutting yourself, although i find they’re not as accurate as a wey shaver and miss important bits of hair. Unfortunately my facial hair is also rather sporadic, and therefore the idea of growing a beard is not at all suitable

  • Electric razors?! No way! I have my dignity!

Well, to be fair, my first proper shave was at the age of 21, or something equally shameful.

As far as the goatee goes, I got sick of people making fun of it, haha. It’s not good facial hair, maybe in a few year, just not at the moment. Plus I cannot be arsed to maintain it — one of the reasons I shave my head.

So, like, what, are you saying you wet-shave your head too? I’m guessing not, in which case surely you can do the face electrically too.

Given the option between using a labour-saving tool and walking around with blood spurting out of my neck all morning, I think I know which would help maintain my dignity better. :)
