Why I love receiving e-mail
I recently found the sound clip of Joanna Lumley saying “You’ve got post” that she did for AOL. It’s the best thing ever, and it plays every time an email is downloaded into my inbox. It makes getting emails so exciting!
Joanna Lumley, incidentally, is one of those people who is so close to deity, it’s just not funny. Which is incredibly ironic, because the main reason for her proximity to godness is the fact that she is funny.
It’s like they say, this world don’t make a lot of sense. Anyway, enough giddy praise, here’s the wave sound file. You should all immediately download it and set it as the e-mail notification sound on your computers. And if you don’t know how to that, perhaps just play it over and over for a few hours. It’s one of those things that can never get boring.

She is never 60! Oh my goodness, you would actually never know, that’s the most incredible thing in the world. I hope that when I get to 60, I am actually really only 40, just like her.

Does anyone have the newer one that says ‘you have email’…. just gone and lost it from my pc! :o(
Has anyone got the old one by Joanna that just says ‘welcome’? (not the newer one which says ‘welcome to Aol)
I’m looking for the one where Joanna says ‘you have company’ when someone joins you on Messenger. Had it on my old laptop & it used to freak my flatmate out as she had no idea what it meant lol.
You might be able to find it if you install the AOL program and look in the Program Files folder. I’d do it myself but I’m not on Windows any more ;)

Thank you SO much for that sound clip!!! I’ve been searching for it forever! :-D I’m so happy that there are so many other Lumster fans out there!! Joanna is one of my idols, along with Jennifer Saunders. As you might’ve guessed, I’m a total Ab Fab fanatic hehe. Anyway though, Joanna is just Heaven personified..that voice, that charm, that grace..I have to meet her some day. <333
