The most absurd sentence

I regularly check my spam folder for mail which has come from people I know (so far, only one “real” email has been marked up by Gmail as spam in the couple of months I’ve been using it).

Anyway, this opening sentence from a spam email ranks amongst the silliest I’ve ever read:

Fraternal greetings from the people’s republic, darlin! :)

It was from an Austrian (.at) address, which makes even less sense, since last time I checked Austria wasn’t a “People’s Republic”.

It’s almost as good as the invitation to view porn I received a while ago:

I was dancing at the club when some goof spilt beer on my boobs

Yeah baby!
