HTTP Error Code 410

The name of this error code is simply, Gone.

I’ve always thought it was rather poetic, as error codes go. You’d expect it to be something a little more descriptive and mundane, like Deleted or Removed, but apparently not. Consequently, it’s my favourite error code.

Are people allowed to have favourite error codes? I mean 410 is very useful! No, wait … I think I hear the last vestiges of my reputation escaping.

If you’re of a mind, check out the whole list of status codes. It goes far beyond 404!
