Being Mr. Kenny

Turns out I’ve been using the Uni computers more that I thought I would. We’ve cancelled the phone, so had no internet for a while. Actually, it’s been good not blogging for a while, I’m going to cut down — it will make posts better, and I won’t spend as much time doing it when I could be doing more important things.

Well, to make it interesting, today we were burglarised. What is the word for that? Burgled? I don’t know.

Anyway, it happened right under my nose, as well. Been packing all my stuff into boxes, and then putting them into Ben’s room (cos he left ages ago) ready to be bundled into my Dad’s car. Had my music on (it was Björk’s jazz record (oh yes, a jazz record), Gling Gló) so I didn’t hear them come in. I came downstairs at one point to see the front door open, so I shut it, thinking it was a bit strange. I looked around and nothing looked like it had been taken, so I carried on.

Later, I got a call from my housemate, asking me if I’d gone out and left the door unlocked, cos he was missing all his XBox games and a jar of loose change.

Luckily, nothing else had been taken, but how annoying is that! And right under my nose as well. People can be so nasty, sometimes. We’re being more careful, now, and making sure everything’s locked, just permanently, really. And to think that we laughed at our housemate who used to lock the door every time he used it.

PS: Sorry that my first post in ages is about something so bad! To make up for it: I was in a greengrocers not long ago, when what should I see but a man carrying a large iguana, buying lettuce. How good is that?!
