On http://www.gortonnews.org.uk/archive/newslettermar05.PDF you can see a picture of a policeman. A completely blurry picture which could be any old policeman at all. In fact it is Inspector Mark Kenny, Greater Manchester Police's Area Inspector for Gorton and Levenshulme. A rather more close-up picture of Inspector Kenny has been smiling at me every morning for the last two weeks as I arrive on platform 1 at Levenshulme train station for my 12-minute commute to work. So I thought you should know!

A quick bit of googling suggests he's been involved in community relations with Manchester's gay and lesbians, for what it's worth.

And I bet he cleans his bathroom more often than you do - that's just disgusting!! :D
