Old English
I would dearly love to learn Old English. It looks like such a beautiful language. I just found a couple of sites which tell you how to conjugate a few verbs. I finally know how to do it! I’ve had my suspicions… Basically I knew that the forms were something like:
- I sing (?)
- she singest
- you singeth
but I just found out the properness of how to do it.
See this page for a few more details. Basically, and this is the really cool bit cos I get to use the letter “þ” (makes the “th” sound in wrath or think), these are the verb conjugations for Old English:
| Subject | Old English | Modern English |
|---|---|---|
| I | singe | sing |
| you (thou) | singest | sing |
| he/she | singeþ (singeth) | sings |
| we/you/they | singaþ (singath) | sing |
Old English is such a beautiful language, I would absolutely love to learn it!
